Mitchell Zwang is an Associate at Kilinski | Van Wyk, where he focuses his practice on special district law and public finance. His work centers on advising Community Development Districts and related public entities on governance, infrastructure financing, and long-term district operations, helping support the growth of thoughtfully planned communities throughout Florida.
Mitchell earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center, where he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers in recognition of his excellence in advocacy. During law school, he served as Notes & Comment Editor for the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy and was actively involved in mock trial and leadership organizations, further strengthening his foundation in legal analysis and client advocacy.
Prior to joining KVW, Mitchell served as district and bond counsel at The Muller Law Group, advising municipal utility districts on bond issuances, district formation, and financial management for large-scale master-planned communities. He also gained valuable experience at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where he represented municipalities, special districts, school districts, and financial institutions as bond, disclosure, and underwriters’ counsel in public finance transactions across the country.
Mitchell earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin and is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Florida.
Having recently relocated from Texas, Mitchell is embracing life in the Sunshine State. He maintains a keen interest in finance, as well as local and global affairs. In his free time, you can find him relaxing on the beach or on the hunt for the perfect sushi roll.
