Prior to her legal career, Mary Grace worked as a marketing professional with a Fortune 500 financial services company based in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Mary Grace began her legal career in the insurance coverage practice group at a prominent regional firm. While there, she represented and counseled insurance carriers on complex third-party liability coverage and bad faith issues, including several large construction defect matters affecting developers and communities throughout the state of Florida. Mary Grace gained valuable litigation experience and in-depth knowledge of liability insurance considerations in the construction industry, facilitating a successful transition to Kilinski | Van Wyk. She draws upon her knowledge base to represent developers, landowners, homebuilders, and others in the establishment and general counsel representation of various special districts, including Community Development Districts (“CDDs”). Mary Grace takes pride in helping clients create, finance, and operate vibrant communities and other development projects in her home state of Florida.

In her free time, Jennifer is action oriented – she enjoys spending time with her husband and their extremely active children, working on community and civic projects especially with at risk populations and training for and competing in triathlons and other outdoor pursuits.

Education

Mary Grace graduated magna cum laude from Stetson University, College of Law. While in law school, Mary Grace served as the Assistant Managing Editor of the Stetson Law Review, earning the organization’s Outstanding Associate Award. Mary Grace was also an active member of her school’s Dispute Resolution Board and competed nationally in the ABA Representation in Mediation Competition. Additionally, during her time in law school, Mary Grace interned with The Honorable Mary Scriven in the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, and earned the highest grade designation in Land Use Law in her final year. Mary Grace also participated in the Municipal Law Clinic with the Office of General Counsel for the City of Jacksonville during law school. Mary Grace draws from her breadth of knowledge and experience to provide excellent leadership and legal advice for her clients.
