Christopher Neal Loy, Jr. is an associate attorney at Kilinski | Van Wyk where he focuses on the establishment and representation of special districts, including community development districts, improvement districts, stewardship districts, and recreational districts. He also represents private and public clients in construction law matters, serves as issuer’s counsel in conjunction with public financing, and represents landowners around Florida in conservation programs with the state.
Chris began his legal career in Denver, Colorado, where he practiced at a boutique real estate law firm. While there, he represented and counseled various entities in the real estate industry, including lenders, developers, and investors, on various real estate matters from commercial and residential leasing, purchase and sale, and financing on real estate matters throughout the state of Colorado. Chris also served at the pleasure of the people of Colorado for a year as an Assistant Attorney General for the Colorado Department of Law where he represented the Colorado Department of Agriculture in various matters affecting farmers and ranchers throughout Colorado. Chris has a vast breadth of experience in the real estate industry which allows him to bring a unique perspective to Kilinski | Van Wyk. He draws upon his experience to represent developers, landowners, homebuilders, and others in the establishment and general counsel representation of various special districts, including Community Development Districts (“CDDs”). Chris takes pride in helping clients create, finance, and operate vibrant communities and other development projects in his home state of Florida.
In his free time, Chris trains to compete in triathlons across the nation, surfs, and explores all Northeast Florida has to offer with his wife and their wheaten terrier, Sophie.
Chris graduated cum laude from University of Florida Levin College of Law. While in law school, Chris served as the Forum Editor of the Florida Law Review. Additionally, during his time in law school, Chris interned with the Honorable Elizabeth Anne Kovachevich in the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida and the County Attorney for Adams County, Colorado. Chris graduated from University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies.
